Pre-Race Questions:

What Are The Registration Fees?

Here are the registration fees for the Marathon and Half Marathon.  There will be a mandatory WA sales tax @ 8.7% plus the processing fee added to the basic entry fee.

Marathon:
Until 1/27/17 – $50
Until 2/1/17 – $60
Until 3/1/17 – $75
Until 4/1/17 – $80
Until 5/1/17 – $90
Until 5/15/17 – $100
Until Packet pick-up closes – $110

Half Marathon:

There will be NO day of race registrations.

Is There a Wheelchair Division? What about handcycles?

Yes!  Wheelchairs are allowed on the course.   However, in the interest of safety, handcycles and handcranks will not be permitted.

What is Your Cancellations and Refund Policy?

Registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE and NON-DEFERRABLE.

When and Where is the Packet Pickup?

Packet pick-up will be located at Fleet Feet in downtown Spokane (1303 N Washington St) on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Do I have to get my race packet at the expo on Saturday?
Yes. You or a friend can pick-up your race packet between the hours of 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Can I Have a Friend Pick Up My Race Packet For Me?

Yes, you may.

Is There a Pre-Race Pasta Dinner?

No, we do not have an official Windermere Marathon pasta dinner. With all the great restaurants in Spokane and Liberty Lake, we want to give you a chance to experience our city.

Where is the Closest Airport?

The closest airport is the Spokane International Airport, located approximately 15 minutes from downtown Spokane.

Race Day Questions:

Is There Packet Pick Up on Race Day?

There will be NO registration, NO packet pick up and NO race shirt pick up on Race Day.  Only race bib numbers and chips, not claimed at the Expo, will be distributed race day morning.

Where Do I Catch the Bus Shuttle to the Start?
There will be bus pick-ups at the Spokane Convention Center Breezeway (near the INB performing arts center) with departures beginning at 4:30 a.m. with the last bus leaving at 5:30 a.m.

Marathon buses depart: 4:30am – 5:30am
Half Marathon buses depart: 5:30am – 6:30am

Buses will be dedicated to either the full or half marathon start. They will not go to both start locations.

There is limited parking at the starting area of the full marathon. There is ample parking at the parking lot in Mirabeau Park near the start of the Half Marathon. You are strongly encouraged to take the free bus transportation to the start lines. Drop-offs at the starting areas are permitted.

After the race, are there bus shuttles from the finish to the start?
Bus shuttle services from the finish line will be provided as needed back to the start lines.

What about gear bag checks?
You will be given your gear bag at packet pickup.  Please make sure to mark your gear bag prominently with your correct number on it.   Both the Full and Half start lines will have a drop off area and your bag will be transported to the finish area.  Please do not leave any valuables in your gear bag.

What Time Does the Marathon and Half Marathon Start?

Marathon starts at 7:00 A.M. Half Marathon starts at 8:00 A.M.

Is the Windermere Marathon a “Boston Qualifier”?

Unfortunately, the windermere marathon is not a boston qualifier in 2017 do to the need to change our courses.  We plan to have a certified course back in 2018.

How Many Water Stations on the  Course?

Water Station are located approximately every 2 miles with 13 total stations on the marathon course and 7 on the half marathon. All aid stations will contain water, GU hydration, GU chews, and GU gels.

What About Medical Aid Stations?

Full medical tents will be located at Mirabeau and at the Finish Line staffed by Providence medical staff. We will also have a bike patrol along the centennial trail checking on runners in the areas without vehicle access.

Where are the Port-A-Potties Located?

There are American On-Site port-a-potties at the Full and Half Starts, the Finish and at the 14 aid stations on the course or a total of 17 locations.

Is the Centennial Trail “Closed”?

The Centennial Trail is an open, public recreational asset and, by its charter, cannot be closed for an event.  We will have bicycle patrols throughout the course and Course Marshals at all access points to alert other trail users of the race in progress.  For your safety, however, it is important to be aware that there may be other users of the trails on bicycles, on roller blades, walking or running.

What About Spectators?  Where Can My Friends and Family Go to Watch?

The best spectator areas are at the access points to trailheads at Harvard Road, Barker Road, Sullivan Road, Mirabeau Park and on Upriver Drive east of Mission Avenue.

What Happens in the Event of a Train Holdup?

There is a possibility of a train moving through at Mission and Perry (23.8 miles into the marathon, 10.7 miles into the half).  We will have a Course Marshal stationed at that location to record any time delay.  If you are held up by a train, please be sure that your race bib is visible to that course marshal who will relay it to the timer.

Is the Windermere Marathon Walker Friendly?

Yes!  We encourage walkers on both the Half and Full Marathon courses. You have ample time to finish either event with the courses staying open for 7.5 hours. The courses are ideally suited for recreational runners, joggers and walkers.

What is the Course Time Limit? 

The full and half marathon courses will be officially open for 7.5 hours from 7:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The finish line closes at 2:30 p.m.

Can I Run With a iPod or Other Device?

We discourage the use of headphones or other music devices because they may impede your awareness of surrounding dangers and the full ability to hear instructions and warnings from race officials and volunteers.

May I Push My Stroller or Babyjogger?

Sorry.  We’d love to allow it, but the trail is only 12 feet wide and narrower in some places.

Can I Run With My Dog?

Sorry.  No dogs will be allowed.

How Soon Are Timing / Results Available?

The Windermere Full and Half will be chip timed with results posted timely at the finish area.

When Will Awards Be Presented?

There will be 180 awards given for the top 3 in each age group category and 3 overall in the Full and Half Marathon.   We will commence the awards ceremony as soon as most age groups have finished and we have the results compiled.
